Specialist physiotherapy for children and adolescents
Physiotherapists use highly advanced knowledge of the body’s anatomy and physiology, to diagnose problems with the musculoskeletal system e.g. bones, muscles, tendons.
By selecting the appropriate assessment and treatment techniques, the physiotherapist is able to reduce pain and inflammation, regain flexibility and strength, and optimize function.
The title of physiotherapist is ‘protected’. This means that only those who have undergone rigorous training, at an appropriate college of physiotherapy, can use the title.
What does a physiotherapy consultation involve ?
The physiotherapist will take a detailed history of your child’s condition, together with any relevant past medical history, birth history, and family history.
Diagnosis is made by relating this history, to the findings of a comprehensive physical examination of your child, to determine the source of the problem.
